A tool to support the implementation
of global agendas in cities and communities

This tool aims to guide local actors in implementing global agendas in cities. It combines a methological framework with references to urban sector specific approaches on the categories listed below. You can click in each of the categories or in the naviagation menu above to go to the specific category with its own tools and further explanations.

There are several paths of how toย  go from one category / tool to another. It will eventually depend on the situation in the city and on the depth of the analysis that is required. For further information go to the next page.

This category is about resources for awareness raising / advocacy, aiming to provide an understanding of the role of cities/why they need to be involved, what does the Sustainable Development Goals / Agenda 2030, Paris Climate Agreement, Sendai Framework and the New Urban Agenda means concretely at the local level.

This category is about aligning/ mainstreaming the international context (if existing also the national policies) into cities existing agendas and approaches (it is about reviewing plans/mandates/policies and adapting them) as well as understanding and accessing the enabling conditions.
