Evidence-based decision making

Evidence-based decision making 2019-01-22T12:08:02+01:00

Objective

There is a myriad of actions that can be taken by cities, yet cities need to be able to prioritise and make decisions (evidence – based and agreed in consensus with relevant stakeholders)

Description

This important step should build on results coming from mainstreaming analysis, SDG-wheel, needs assessment and enabling condition tools

Possible categories to facilitate decision making: political, financial/economic, social, technical feasibility;

  • Effectiveness, efficiency (cost-benefit, flexibility in case of uncertainty
  • Moreover: availability of co-benefits or absence of trade-offs / conflicts, does no harm
  • Build more on Political economy analysis approach, other decision-making tools
  • Use of EIDOS would enable support of decision-making with many options and variables

Non-digital decision-making support tool would have to simplify and/or structure decision-making into more than one phase (e.g. 1. Develop alternative sets of actions, 2.
